Some Canucks’ players leave home to play Junior A in Niagara Falls, far away from their families. In these circumstances, the Canucks typically arrange for them to live with a billet family.
There are rewards in it for everyone. Among other things, both the billet family and the player have opportunities for mentorship, sharing experiences, ideas and perspectives, making lifelong friends and memories and discussing, playing and watching the sport we love so much! The billet family also receives monetary compensation for welcoming the player into their home and feeding and housing him.
