OJHL Governor’s Showcase

For three days every October, the whole league comes to Niagara Falls. The OJHL Governor’s Showcase brings all twenty-four member teams to the Gale Centre, and they play in front of more than 150 scouts from the National Hockey League, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, U SPORTS, the Canadian Hockey League and professional leagues around the world.

It is the single biggest gathering of junior hockey talent Niagara sees all year, and it happens in our building.

When the Canucks play

Every team plays twice, once as the home team and once as the visitor. Both Canucks games are on the Main Rink.

What a day pass gets you

Eight games, from mid-morning until late evening, for the price of a single regular season ticket and change. Two pads run at once, so there is almost always hockey in front of you, and you can watch teams you would otherwise never see without a long drive.

Why the scouts come

The Showcase exists so that every player in the league gets seen. It works. The OJHL reported more than 135 commitments in 2024-25, including fifty-four to NCAA Division I and twenty-nine to the Ontario Hockey League, and thirty-eight of its alumni are currently on NHL rosters, more than any other CJHL league.

For a Niagara Falls fan, that means three days of watching players who are about to move up, before they do.

The building

The Gale Centre has four NHL-sized pads under one roof. The Showcase uses two of them, and the concourse between the rinks is where the league sets up. If you have never been, you can walk through it first.
